BIOGRAPHY

Acting is my passion. The road in this business is rocky and rarely straight — but it’s still the best job in the world.

In Switzerland, I’m best known for my work at Zurich’s Theater am Hechtplatz, in productions such as Alles uf Aafang, Ab die Post, and Polizeiruf 117. I’ve also performed with Kammerspiele Seeb, at Fauteuil Basel, at Sommertheater Winterthur, and on tours across the country. In Peter Luisi’s Bonjour Switzerland — currently one of Switzerland’s most successful films, which premiered on Netflix in early June — I get to teach Beat Schlatter’s character a hard truth: sadly, he will never learn French. During the Covid period, Gilles Tschudi invited me to play his partner in the weekly soap Dr Störefried, an almost real-time story about how people navigate the pandemic — and one that reached viewers all over Switzerland.

Back in drama school, singing was already part of my toolkit: I played one of the lead roles in the world premiere of Space Dream, widely regarded as Switzerland’s most successful musical ever. It even brought me a Prix Walo and a platinum record. And while that engagement kept getting extended, I still found time during the day to complete studies at the University of Zurich in sociology, communication studies, and European law.

With my Licentiate (today’s master’s) in hand, I packed my bags and moved to Berlin, followed by a run of theatre and TV productions in Germany. Then I quit. For good, I thought. Ten years later, the phone rang. Thank heaven. And since then, I’ve been acting again — and there’s truly nothing I’d rather do.

Since 2020, I’ve been teaching acting to children and teenagers at Bellacademia. And this spring, after a 30-year break, I rediscovered singing. Since then, I’ve been training my voice almost daily, with real joy and enthusiasm — and I can’t wait to be back on stage in a musical production soon. What drives me is collaborating with brilliant artists onstage and off, in front of the camera and behind it. I love being part of a bigger whole — and I’m not afraid to pitch in: designing a poster in a late-night sprint, styling colleagues, hauling cables, crafting a prop, or becoming the walking encyclopedia of the story. And now, suddenly, I’ve caught the bug for a solo show… I’m writing, scrapping, rewriting — and writing some more.
